1st day in Ho Chi Minh City

What an amazing place! Peter chose us a great little hotel in the midst of it all up a little alley.

We wandered, ate and napped then headed to the Rex Hotel's rooftop bar for cocktail hour - right in the centre of town.





It was frequented a lot by the press corp during the Vietnam war. The hotel looks gorgeous.





To think we were wondering if they really do Christmas over here! The entire population seemed to head into the city on their little motorbikes (preferred method of transportation for all - saw lots of families of four on one bike!) to check out the Christmas decorations!
