Botox

On Tuesday Rosie had an appointment with Dr John Oliver, head of the rehab centre at Epworth. He recommends that Rosie have Botox injections into her right forearm to temporarily relax the tight muscles and tendons on the inside of her arm and wrist which are making it harder for her to use her right hand. The Botox effect lasts for 3 months during which time she will be able to do more effective work with her OT, Tim, which will hopefully last even when the Botox effect wears off.
There was a roomful of 7 doctors and occupational therapists at the appointment. John Oliver is the man in a suit at the back of the photo.

However, the Botox will not happen until we have a clear 3 months in Melbourne because we don't want to waste any of the effective time with Rosie unable to work intensively due to being away from Tim. We are waiting to hear back from Mike Link at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, to see whether Rosie and I will go there for a consultation. Michael Morgan, our surgeon in Sydney, has emailed him on our behalf so we hope to hear from him soon. If that happens it will hopefully be shortly after our trip to Blackball NZ for Easter festivities with Peter's extended clan.
