6 weeks!

The formal 6-week recovery period came to an end today so Rosie is now a free person. It was pouring with rain and my MSO audition finished early today so I came home and dropped her off at her OT and speech appointments today but then went back to work for a meeting. Afterwards, Rosie caught two trams to meet Annie at Glenferrie Rd Starbucks and then trammed home.

We are all looking forward to the huge family gathering happening at Easter weekend in Blackball in the deep south of NZ, the town where Chris Watt and her siblings grew up. We fly to Christchurch on March 29, two days after Rosie, Peter and I go back to Macquarie University Hospital or rather, on this occasion, the Clinic next door, to have Rosie's follow-up meeting with Michael Morgan. Maybe that will also be the opportunity to clarify the gamma knife situation in person.

Since I had to postpone my minor knee op in January, I've started joining Rosie in a Pilates class at her physio's studio, usually twice a week, in the hope that the knee will behave until I can find a suitable time to have it done. We have a class (us plus two others) on Wednesday and Friday.

This week Peter is in Canberra for training and exams - back on Friday night.

In the last few days, Rosie and I have had social evenings out with Jessye, Friday night out for dinner in town then Sunday night to a movie in town, Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. Jessye is working Fridays and Sundays at Manchester Press, a trendy cafe in the CBD and is collecting documents and writing applications for a scholarship and for independent student help from Centrelink. Hopefully, at least one of these will come through so she can get by with just keeping the two days work. She starts her course at RMIT on Monday.

Sorry about the lack of photos today. I've backed off lately in response to the prevailing vibe from Rosie who has never been one for having her picture taken but I'll still sneak some in from time to time. I can sometimes take advantage of her lack of right field of vision by sneaking the iphone up on her right side without her noticing!
