News x 2!

The big news of today is that we bought a house! Our buyer's advocate, Sam Lally, is in the photo with Rosie and me following the auction which was this morning at 10. We won't be settling till July 1 so there's plenty of time to get organised and try yet again to minimise possessions! It's 1671 Malvern Rd, Glen Iris.

The other big piece of news is that we heard from John Fuller, gamma knife man, on Thursday that they believe they can treat Rosie with radiation. She was happy to get the news. Of course, it comes with serious risk of further damage to her right side but he believes that risk is far smaller than the long-term risk of doing nothing. Peter just got back last night from a week in Canberra where he attended a training course and passed two hard exams and with the auction this morning, we haven't had a chance talk about Rosie and gamma knife yet. But the blissful ignorance is over and now we have to consider another dangerous treatment for our brave girl. She is quite clear about it herself - she wants the treatment even if there's a chance she could be more damaged on her right side. She says that's better than living with the significant risk of early death. We may try to get a second opinion from one of the world-leading gamma knife institutions in America that Michael Morgan told me about ages ago. There is a Mayo Clinic in Rochester and some place in Pittsburgh. Not sure.....
