3.5 weeks

Yesterday, Michael Morgan rang me to say that the expected news about gamma knife would be further delayed. Apparently, the information from the physicists at Peter Mac in Melbourne, where Rosie was treated eight years ago, was not comprehensive enough for the Macquarie physicists to complete their investigation. They requested more detail and it was sent on Thursday but had not yet been received at Macquarie by end of business yesterday. He thinks it will arrive on Monday, the Macquarie team will take two days to do their work and we might have an answer by next Wednesday.
Rosie has been enjoying some social time with friends - I've bent the rules slightly, dropping her off down the road to Cupcake Central to have cafe time with twins Stormie and Annie. Annie and her dad visited us in hospital in Sydney and Stormie had just got back from several weeks volunteering in a hospital in Africa somewhere. Joey has come over a few times and yesterday I took Rosie and Joey over to another friend's place to farewell her before her departure for Canberra where she will study.
Our keen chef has also been back in the kitchen more regularly. She made a Jamie recipe for naughty roast chicken with herbed butter under the skin and from-scratch gravy...

A delicious chicken and leek pie...

and some ginger kisses from the Ladies a Plate book of traditional Kiwi baking to add to lunch on Tuesday, when a few of my friends, Mary, Briar, Rosia and Sook came over and brought us food. It took us back to Sydney days when our rellies and friends rallied round and fed us royally. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of that gathering.
