Happy day
After Michael's upbeat visit, Rosie got up, had a shower and got dressed in day clothes. She is already walking independently again and we went to the ward physio room where she went through all the activities the physio had done with her last week.
Anne, Rosie's nurse today, came to remove her hat. I missed this last week when the doctors did it but apparently they just pick the whole thing up in one piece and lift it off. But Anne unwrapped the wide bandage instead. Rosie's hair was extremely stiff and hard and a little damp with brain juice so she insisted I brush it out so she could look human.
After more walking about, the mobile ultrasound lady came and did the leg and arm check in Rosie's room.
Faith came to visit this afternoon with sushi and a new puzzle for us, a beautiful Michaelangelo painting.
In the room we had a multimedia afternoon with the puzzle (circular which makes it satisfying finding pieces regularly), tennis on the TV and osie doing SIMs 3 on her laptop with help from me reading the words.
Rosie was very upbeat herself today, winning Gin and Up the River, getting more comfortable with recognizing the cards and some objects. She said she was happy and had decided she would just be happy for the whole time even if she was doing nothing. I told her that was an amazing life lesson that some people never learn, that only you can decide to be happy. Jessye and Sophie groaned...
