Alex and Jane
Sophie's grade had swimming during school time every day for two weeks and I volunteered for parent duty riding to the pool on the bus and hanging about in the changing room.
During our recent warm spell Fred and Barney got walked through the park after school and even Al got in on the act. Al and Jane's arrival cooincided with the last couple of warm days.
Normal life continued around Al and Jane with piano lessons on their first night here.
The next day Sophie cranked up her new much larger half-size cello and since I had some of the day off, Al and Jane and I headed off downtown for a bit of a wander and photo opportunities in front of a few Melbourne icons, Flinders Sation, Federation Square with tram and in the distance behing Al, the MCG.
One night we took them to our favourite Italian on Lygon St then the next night our favourite Vietnamese on Victoria St. Eleanor came round to join us for that one with her new short do. Jane had left us by this point to spend a few days in Sydney with her niece.
On another night (don't know which day was which at this stage) Will came round for dinner and Al cooked us a roast chook with all the roast goodies. After dinner we left Pete in his favourite position with his two best friends and took Will and Al to Trampoline for a wintry gelati experience.
On the day of Al's departure Jessye roused him at 7:25 to say goodbye before she headed off to catch her tram. Al and I had a last lunch on Brunswick St where Al also posed in front of a pub that tickled his fancy. Rosie and Sophie and I took him to the airport after school. It was great to have them both muck in with our messy lives.
This afternoon Sophie performed in her first Australian Girls' Choir concert featuring all seven levels of choir run by this huge national organisation. Sophie's in the second or Probationary (and they didn't even know her yet when they stuck her in that one!) level. The whole show was very polished and our Soph held her end up.
No news on the Rosie brain front. We're just waiting for her next MRI which will be the week after next. She seems pretty stable with no headaches since she's been back on the steroid.
